NEW YORK, Oct. 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the end of the settlement date of September 30, 2019, short interest in 2,379 Nasdaq Global MarketSM securities totaled 8,342,401,350 shares compared with 8,289,152,727 shares in 2,367 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of September 13, 2019. The end-of-September short interest represents 4.37 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 5.18 days for the prior reporting period.

Short interest in 999 securities on The Nasdaq Capital MarketSM totaled 904,489,672 shares at the end of the settlement date of September 30, 2019 compared with 911,909,640 shares in 998 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents 3.53 days average daily volume, compared with the previous reporting period’s figure of 3.99.
