Head of State creates commission to grant social housing

Luanda, ANGOLA, May 11 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, created a Multisectoral Commission in charge of analyzing the conditions of access, allocation of social housing in projects promoted by the State, as well as promote accountability for the non-compliance of the duties by the beneficiaries. ,

According to a note from the President's Civil Office of the President, which reached ANGOP Friday, the Commission is coordinated by the minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic and integrates the ministers of Finance, Territorial Planning and Housing , Territory Administration and State Reform, Construction and Public Works and Family Social Action and Promotion of Women.

The Commission also includes the secretaries of the President of the Republic for Judicial, Legal, Social, as well as Regional and Local matters.

Among its powers, according to the document, are the presentation of measures to ensure the reasonable and efficient use of social housing in the various projects promoted by the State and work on the creation of a single national database of all properties that have been and are to be effected with public funds.

The note also adds that it must also prepare the necessary legal instruments to safeguard the correct and fair allocation of social houses, as well as the accountability of acts that damage the State.

Also, within the scope of its attributions, the commission must also carry out the national registration of all real estate promoted by the State.
