Luanda, ANGOLA, April 30 - Angola participates from today (Tuesday) until May 30 in the 14th edition of the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF), which is taking place in Istanbul, Turkey. ,

According to a note from the Angolan embassy in Turkey that Angop had access to, the event is organized by the Ministry of Defense of that country, under the management and responsibility of the Foundation of the Turkish Armed Forces and takes place in the Center of Fairs and Congresses of Istanbul.

Angola participates in the event with a delegation led by the Secretary of State for Material Resources and Infrastructure, Afonso Carlos Neto, representing the Minister of National Defense, Salviano Sequeira.

The event aims to promote and increase the international competitive power of the national defense industry and is organized every two years since 1993.

The note reads that the fair has become an important international platform for the promotion, marketing and cooperation of the defense, security, naval, aeronautics and aerospace sectors and provides a meeting between national and foreign exhibitors and delegations.

The document indicates that in the last edition held in 2017 the fair was visited by 65,782 people from 116 countries, of which 60,754 were Turkish and 5,028 foreigners.

Also in 2017, IDEF received 818 companies and 133 defense-related delegations from 67 countries.
