Angola negotiates USD 1 billion loan to boost private sector

Luanda, ANGOLA, April 30 - The Angolan government is negotiating with the Deutsche Bank a credit line of USD 1 billion to boost the private sector, especially the productive sector, announced Tuesday (30), in Luanda, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. ,

The Angolan Head of State who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 1st Forum of the 10 Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Angola, considered them as propulsive springboards of the integrated development of nations.

The President stated that the Minister of Finance has been authorized to conclude a Framework Agreement with Deutsche Bank and Angolan commercial banks that have met the conditions precedent for this financing operation in the coming days.

João Lourenço hopes that this financing will preferably benefit private projects in the processing industry, agriculture and fisheries.

In the presence of businessmen, Cabinet ministers, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international experts, João Lourenço affirmed that the country is gradually moving towards the recovery of macroeconomic stability, creating the basis for a relaunch of productive activity and a more vigorous economic growth.
