Zaire: National Police seize illegal fishing boats

Mbanza Congo, ANGOLA, April 28 - The National Boarder Police has seized six boats whose crew were illegally carrying out fishing activities in Soyo Municipality, northern Zaire Province, said on Saturday in Mbanza Congo City the spokesman of the Zaire Provincial Command of the National Police, chief-inspector Luís Bernardo.,

Speaking to ANGOP, the police chief said that the boats had citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo and at least four Angolans on board.

 

The police spokesperson also explained that at least 1080 plastic containers of 20 and 250 liters were found inside the boats, which were being used to smuggle fuel.

 

Zaire Province shares 330 km of border with Congo Central region being 150 fluvial through the Zaire River and 180 km land border.
