Government institutionalizes public service desks

Luanda, ANGOLA, April 15 - The Angolan Government will start, as of August this year, the implementation of 596 Single Public Assistance Counters (BUAP) in every country with the aim of providing better service in the scope of the informal electoral registration.,

It is a new model of public service delivery that will be implemented gradually in the municipalities, communes and urban districts of the country.

This measure consists of a Strategic Plan presented Monday in Luanda by the Minister of Administration and State Reform (MAT), Adão de Almeida, to the National Electoral Commission (CNE).

In this regard, the National Director of Official Electoral Registration of the MAT, Fernando Manuel, said that the Single Desk for Public Attendance will issue the Identity Card (ID) through the voter card and, in exceptional cases, promote the face-to-face registration of citizens without an identity document.

According to the official, BUAP will also provide a service related to the unofficial voter registration and collect information necessary to verify the issuance of birth certificates and death certificates.

According to the same source, the objective is to integrate the public administration services at the same counter, in an act of complementarities between services that will be provided by the MAT, in general, from the organs of the State Administration and the Ministry of Justice.

He also said that as the services are progressed, BUAP will gradually be instituted in all municipalities, communes and urban districts of the country.

The Strategic Plan for the Implementation of the Single Desk for Public Attention (BUAP) was approved on March 13 this year, in the Council of Ministers.
