Caesars Palace Gaming Dealers Vote to Join the UAW

Caesars Palace Gaming Dealers Vote to Join the UAW
Fifth Las Vegas Casino in Two Weeks to Vote Yes

Almost 550 gaming dealers at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas voted to join the UAW Saturday.

“We are thrilled to have Caesars Palace gaming dealers vote to be allowed to join what are now over 10,000 casino workers in the UAW,” said Gary Jones, president of the UAW. “In just this past week the UAW has welcomed over 2,000 new Las Vegas casino workers.”

Last week almost 1500 gaming dealers from Bally’s, Harrah’s, Paris and the Wynn voted to become members of the UAW.

“We welcome these workers into the UAW family and look forward to getting down to business and bargaining great contracts.” said Vance Pearson, director of UAW Region 5.

The UAW now represents workers in 27 casinos nationwide including Las Vegas gaming dealers at the Cromwell, Flamingo/Margaritaville and LINQ Casinos.

“I voted yes for job protection, wages, benefits, working conditions and to have a real voice in my workplace,” said Caesars employee Brian Bixby.

Caesars table games dealer Martina Castle said, “There is an immense benefit to not being just one employee with just one voice.  Having the opportunity to come together as one voice that represents the interests of all unionized dealers in Las Vegas is a very valuable asset.”

The Las Vegas votes continue a strong growth trend in all sectors of the UAW. In 2018 alone, over 16,000 workers joined the UAW through organizing drives.
