Angola, Rwanda eye strengthened cooperation

Luanda, ANGOLA, March 21 - Angola and Rwanda have pledged to strengthen bilateral cooperation and discussed the possibility of the official airlines of the two countries (TAAG and RwandAir) linking the capitals, Luanda and Kigali.,

This was announced by the president João Lourenço at a joint press conference with Rwanda counterpart Paul Kagame, who ended a two-day working visit to Angola this Thursday.  

As for Wednesday meeting, President João Lourenço said that he had discussed with his counterpart Paul Kagame matters such as agriculture, tourism, information technology, communications and security.

According to João Lourenço, Wednesday's meeting also served for mutual consultations on the situation in the Great Lakes region and planned opening an Angolan Embassy in Kigali, Rwanda.

Mutually beneficial cooperation

Under cooperation between the two States, Paul Kagame spoke of the two countries  interest to develop a partnership in which the parties have mutual advantages.  

"Let's work together and develop cooperation. One of the goals is to contribute to the solution of the general problems that affect our continent, "said the statesman, who was flanked by the Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço.

Rwandan president praised João Lourenço’s commitment to search for best path for re-launch of cooperation between the two countries.

Angola and Rwanda established cooperation agreements in fields civil aviation, safety and public order.

Kagame left Luanda Thursday back to his country.
