MPs vote on drafts to change oil activities
Luanda, ANGOLA, March 7 - The National Assembly meets on March 19, in an ordinary plenary session, to vote definitively on the proposals for the Law on the Alteration of Petroleum Activities and on the Taxation of Petroleum Activities.,
The current petroleum development strategy has substantially changed the assumptions on which the sectoral models for the management of petroleum resources have been constructed, both by the State and by the investors in oil exploration and production.
Based on this change, a new model of organization of the sector was approved that creates the National Oil and Gas Agency, with the role of national concessionaire replacing SONANGOL - EP.
At the plenary of March 19, the MPs will also vote definitively on proposals for amendments to Civil Aviation and Public Private Partnerships.
Speaking to journalists at the end of the conference of parliamentary leaders, Parliament's spokesman Raúl Lima said that the draft resolution for the ratification of the Treaty between the Republic of Angola and the Russian Federation on Aid Mutual Judiciary in Criminal Matters.
The draft resolution on the ratification of the Cooperation Agreement between the Angolan Government and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in the field of Defense is also part of the agenda.
The Report on the activities of the Angolan Mass Media Regulatory Authority (ERCA), for the year 2018, will be discussed and voted on at the 5th ordinary plenary meeting of the National Assembly.
The agenda includes, in addition to the change of MPs, the discussion and voting on the Draft Resolution for the replacement of members nominated by UNITA for the electoral commissions of Chibia, Quilengues and Gambos, in the province of Huíla, in Lewa (Moxico), Moçamedes (Namibe) and Noqui, in the province of Zaire.
