Cincinnati -- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today issued a Final Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Savannah River Site (SRS) Paramilitary Security Services. This contract will provide security functions in the areas of Program Management, Protective Force, Physical Protection, Information Security, Personnel Security, Law Enforcement, Aviation Operations and Material Transportation Security and Coordination. The total estimated value of the contract is approximately $600M-$1 billion over a 10-year period. The current SRS Paramilitary Security Services is held by Centerra-SRS, LLC and will expire on October 7, 2019.

DOE anticipates the contract will be a Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF) contract with a 60 day period of performance for contract transition and a contract base period of performance of 4 year, 10 months with two options (Option 1 is a 3-year performance period, and Option 2 is a 2-year performance period) for a total of a 10 year period of performance. The Final RFP includes requirements for meaningful work to be performed by small businesses.

SRS is a multi-program site that involves various long-term missions for Environmental Management (EM) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The objective of this acquisition is to effectively implement DOE, EM, and NNSA Safeguards and Security (S&S) program requirements, responsibilities, obligations and activities at the Savannah River (SR) Site in compliance with Departmental policy. The S&S Program ensures that the Department efficiently and effectively meets all its obligations to protect Special Nuclear Material, other nuclear materials, classified matter, sensitive information, government property, and the safety and security of employees, contractors, and the general public.
