MPLA encourages President to carry on reforms

Luanda, ANGOLA, March 5 - The MPLA Political Bureau has encouraged the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Tuesday to continue political and economic reforms aimed at transforming Angola. ,

João Lourenço took office on September 26, 2017, when he began a strong political and economic reform of the country.

Since coming to power, the Head of State has implemented several measures that have culminated in improving the business environment and the country's image in the world.

João Lourenço has been working to put an end to monopolies and business groups whose interests have severely damaged the state, as well as leading a process of fighting corruption and impunity.

As a result of these measures, several political figures and public managers have been brought to justice on suspicion of crimes of corruption, embezzlement, criminal association and money laundering, practices that have infuriated Angolan society.

In a note of congratulations on the 65th anniversary of the President of the Republic that is being marked today, the Political Bureau of MPLA welcomes the Statesman's policies for the benefit of the Angolans.

On the other hand, the ruling party considers that the great challenge of materializing the broad program of recovery of good civic, moral and patriotic habits and values and of respect for public affairs places João Lourenço as a true leader of the moralization of Angolan society.

"The Political Bureau addresses, on behalf of its militants, sympathizers and friends of the Party, its most sincere congratulations and wishing good health, in the company of his entire family," reads the note.

In this way, the MPLA urges the Angolan people to close ranks around President João Lourenço, giving him all the support of solidarity and patriotism.
