Vice president suggests historical book on "Salvador Correia" school

Luanda, ANGOLA, February 22 - Angola?s Vice President Bornito de Sousa Friday suggested the creation of an edition of a book which illustrates and updates the history and architecture of the former National Salvador Correia High School, currently Mutu-ya-Kevela Magisterium in Luanda.,

Bornito de Sousa was speaking at the ceremony that marked the 100 years of the old teaching institution on February 22, 1919.

In his address, the Vice President conveyed the congratulations from the head of State João Lourenço to the former Salvador Correia students, with stress to nationalists, writers and distinguished personalities.

 

The former students include the first and second Presidents of Angola,  Agostinho Neto and José Eduardo dos Santos, respectively.

 

 

He said that Salvador Correia trained high skilled staff of great scientific and intellectual quality, who still can be found in key sectors of Angola and somewhere such as in Portugal, Brazil, US and Macau.

 

Bornito de Sousa also paid tribute to teachers and employees of  Liceu Salvador Correia, as well as praised the transformation of the institution into a centre of reference  in training and upgrading processes of teachers.
