Luanda, ANGOLA, February 14 - The Angolan Interior minister, Angelo da Veiga Tavares, said on Wednesday in Luanda that private investment is fundamental for the emergence and empowerment of companies, stressing that the efficiency required of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) aims to facilitate the activity of businesspeople.
,
The minister provided this information when he was speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop on "Private Investment and visa facilitation and visa regime in Angola" organized by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) and the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX).
According to Ângelo da Veiga Tavares, private investment is fundamental for the emergence of new companies and the strengthening of existing ones, thus allowing the reduction of imports and the increase of products "made in Angola", with significant effect on the balance of payments and the supply of goods and services, with evident influence on consumer prices.
To him, the SME need to publicise more its updated services, at a time when the country has approved the new Legal Regime of Foreigners, a document that gives greater openness to these citizens, including in visa facility.
The SME has adopted measures to meet the principles of the abovementioned diploma, namely the emphasis on the gradual decentralization of visa extensions to provincial representations, as well as a system that allows the opinions to be treated in a concentrated way, to facilitate the control work and speed up the processes and avoid a set of falsifications that have been recorded.
"In addition to AIPEX, an investor service station has been set up, functioning as if it were a consulate or a diplomatic representation, and other facilitation actions are planned, especially the placement of migration liaison officers in the main posts of consular services which, in addition to the online visa application system for border visas, will facilitate the movement of people and particularly foreign businesspeople and, thus, their business activity, "explained the minister.
