Council of Ministers commission assesses construction of schools

Luanda, ANGOLA, January 30 - The Social Policy Commission of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday approved a memorandum on the construction of schools throughout the country. ,

The session, led by the Minister of State for Economic and Social Development, Manuel Nunes Júnior, recommended the identification of financial resources to begin the project, in order to meet the needs of children outside the educational system by 2022.

According to the press release of the 1st Ordinary Session, a memorandum was also considered to subsidize the school transportation system, reduce the long distances traveled by students and reduce school absenteeism rates.

The Government intends to implement the concept of social transport with priority for education and improve the quality of services, making it affordable, regular and economic.

The Committee recommended the development of the project in all the provinces of the country, engaging, for the success of the operation, in addition to the private business class, the provincial governments and the municipal administrations, within the scope of the ongoing process of deconcentration of competences.

The Committee on Social Policy also considered a memorandum on the legalization of private higher education institutions and another on the functioning of academic regions and public and private public higher education institutions.

It also analyzed the measures envisaged for the reformulation of the current network of higher education institutions, within the framework of the government program.

The Committee on Social Policy of the Council of Ministers was informed about the state of preparation for the academic year (general education) and academic (higher education) for 2019.
