CSSFAA clarifies retired officials' situation
Luanda, ANGOLA, January 29 - The Social Security Fund of the Angolan Armed Forces (CSSFAA) clarified on Monday the complaint of retired general-officers, senior and junior officers, regarding the payment of 100 percent of the pensions, by declaring that it has no legal support.,
The Association of Retired General-Officers, Senior and Junior Officers demands the payment of pensions in that proportion, according to the military rank, as if the said military were in active duty.
The members, who planned to hold a demonstration on Monday in Luanda, demanded the reinstatement of the survivors and disability benefits in their retirement pensions.
In a press release, the CSSFAA, which oversees these pensions, says that the Association "seeks to compare the value of the respective benefits with the salaries of the military personnel with similar posts in the active (…)."
It clarifies that the payment of pensions of retirement, survival and disability are carried out by applying the formulas outlined in Decree-Law number 16/94 of August 10, which institutionalizes the Social Security system of the Angolan Armed Forces.
Regarding the payment of the subsidy of domestic employees, also claimed by the association, the note informs that there is a lawsuit on the subject, which follows the legal procedures in the 3rd Section of the Civil and Administrative Chamber of the Provincial Court of Luanda.
