Economic Commission approves State budget execution document

Luanda, ANGOLA, January 24 - The document that establishes the rules governing the programming and implementation of the State Budget for the fiscal year 2019 was approved this Thursday by the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers that met in Luanda, under the guidance of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. ,

According to its press release, distributed at the end of the meeting, the OGE 2019 diploma aims at improving the quality of public spending, improving accountability mechanisms and ensuring the dynamization of the process of making financial resources available to the public procurement of goods and services by budget units and dependent bodies.

In this session, the 2019 annual debt plan and the general guidelines for the State financing strategy were approved, which ensure the sustainability of the public debt, documents containing the assumptions that must be observed in the short, medium and long term.

The Economic Commission approved the proposals for the adjustment of tariffs for electricity and public transport with a view to updating the rates of sale of electricity and of public urban passenger transport services.

These proposals aim at a closer approximation to the real costs inherent in these activities, taking into account the economic sustainability of the respective sectors, as well as the reduction of the indirect subsidies allocated.

Likewise, a legal document was approved establishing the National Accounting Standardization Council of Angola (CNNA), a public advisory body represented at national level by public and private entities interested in accounting.
