President sacks ambassador to Sweden

Luanda, ANGOLA, January 23 - The Angolan President, João Lourenço, has sacked the country’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Sweden, Isaías Jaime Vilinga and appointed Apolinário Jorge Correia in his replacement.,

The Head of State also appointed Francisco José da Cruz as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and Economic Community for Africa.

  

A press note issued by the President’s Civil House reads that the Head of State appointed Maria Elisabeth Simbrão de Carvalho, Leogivildo da Costa e Silva and André Panzo as itinerant ambassadors.

 

The president also appointed Mário António da Costa Dias as new assistant director-general of the External Intelligence Service (SIE), position previously occupied by Azevedo Xavier Francisco.

 

Azevedo Xavier Francisco was sacked after the Head of State consulted the National Security Council.

 

The president also sacked Lourenço Manuel Gomes from the position of non executive director of the Board of the Angolan Airlines (TAAG), appointing José Luís Prata in his replacement.

 

Through other two presidential orders the president sacked António Guilherme Herman Gonçalves Mangueira from the position of director of the Presidential Flight, appointing Lourenço Manuel Gomes Neto in his place.
