Arp brings years of grassroots political experience at all levels to the Aurora team. She has extensive experience working with community organizations and various stakeholders. 

At the TDSB she was Chair of the Equity Policy Advisory Committee and had leadership roles involving student success, governance and audit. As Vice-Chair she was a public advocate for the board and helped communicate board's positions and policies. As a trustee she advocated for and helped architect a new governance structure and strategic plan, which led to improved transparency and public accountability.

Arp also has a wide range of government experience at the Federal and Provincial level including managing community relations for a Federal Cabinet Minister and multiple positions at Queen's Park including MPP Liaison and Special Advisor to the Minister of Government Services. Prior to being elected to the TDSB Arp ran a successful small business for a number of years.

A member of Governing Council at Fairlawn Avenue United Church, Arp chairs the Ministry and Personnel Committee, she is a member of Equal Voice, a non-partisan organization working towards gender parity in Canadian politics, and has also been a Director on the Toronto Foundation for Student Success and the Ontario Public School Boards Association.
