Moxico: Participants suggest increase in Human rights prize
Luena, ANGOLA, December 15 - Participants in public consultation aimed at gathering contributions for strategic guideline document for human rights have suggested the raise of the prize from AKz 300,000 or AKz 1 million to 5 million kwanza.

The suggestion is expressed in a note released at the end of the meeting held Friday in eastern Moxico province.
The participants alleged importance, efforts and risks the defenders of human rights takes in the society.
The four-hour meeting also suggested the creation of municipal, regional and community committees for the implementation of the strategy on human rights, with participation of religious leaders and chieftains.
The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will give the award every April 4, starting from 2019, to mark Peace Day.
The award will cover three categories - “Human Rights Personality of the Year”, “ Research on Human Rights ”, “Humanitarian and Communitarian Actions ” and Peace culture and Citizenship”.
