Media among sectors with largest chunk of budget

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 15 - Media, Health, Education and Agriculture sectors have benefitted from the largest increase in allocation of 2019 financial year National Budget, approved Friday at National Assembly. ,

 

Media sector received 46 percent increase compared to that of 2018, according to joint opinion report presented at the 4th extraordinary plenary session of the 2nd legislative session of the Parliament.

 

The source also put at 6.6 the increase of the health sector, against the previous 3.6 percent.

 

Education rose from 4 percent in 2018 to 7 percent in 2019.

 

As for the sector of Agriculture and Forestry the budget allocation has increased about 101 percent compared to the previous period.

 

With an increase of 44 percent, the Attorney General's Office (PGR) is one of the organs of justice that has benefited most.

 

The Court of Auditors (27) ranks second, followed by Constitutional Court (26 percent) and the Supreme Court (23) .

 

The National Assembly estimates that this is still not the right time to revise the budget proposal for 2019, due to the volatility and unpredictability of the oil price in the international market.

 

The average price of Angolan branches is estimated at USD 68 per barrel.

 

The Executive is closely monitoring the process should it prove necessary it will propose a budget review.
