Luanda, ANGOLA, December 14 - The Commissioner of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Maria Teresa Manuela, said on Friday that Angola is currently experiencing greater openness to human rights since the president, João Lourenço, took office.,

The official said so to Angop on the fringes of a capacity building and brush up seminar addressed to the technical group of the Interministerial Commission for the Elaboration of National Reports on Human Rights (CIERNDH).

Maria Teresa Manuela underscored that back in 1991 to 2002 people could barely talk about human rights due to the war that was devastating the country by that time, however as from 2010 to 2017 basis had been created for the entrance into force of the Republic Constitution, which enabled the creation of institutions to respond the cases that would come up.
