Ruling party approves national production strategy

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 13 - The Secretariat of the ruling MPLA party’s Politburo last Wednesday approved the proposal of national production strategy, with strong emphasis on the basic products that households normally need, and which outlines a better co-ordination among the productive sectors.,

The strategy is aimed at boosting the production of essential goods for the population and improve their distribution chain from the production areas to the main consumption centres, in the ambit of the ongoing Programme of Support to Production, Exports Diversification and Substitution of Imports   (PRODESI).

The ruling party’s Politburo Secretariat also deemed it fundamental to implement, in general terms, measures turned to the substantial reduction of the importation of products that the country can more easily produce.

The final communiqué of the gathering, chaired by the MPLA vice president, Luísa Damião, states that the party’s Politburo gave positive note to the results of the organisation’s extraordinary conferences held last November in the provinces of Bié, Cunene, Huambo, Huila, Lunda Sul and Zaire.

The Politburo Secretariat also expressed satisfaction at the massive participation of party militants and friends in the 62nd foundation anniversary of the MPLA, marked on 10th December.
