Foreign minister pays tribute to George H. Bush

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 7 - Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs Manuel Augusto Thursday paid tribute to the former US President George H. Bush who died last Friday 30th at the age of 94. ,

 

Manuel Augusto signed the book of condolences at US Embassy in Angola, on behalf of the Angolan State.

 

A book of condolences is open in tribute to the 41st President of the United States.

 

"He had the privilege of consolidating and strengthening international peace in the Cold War," Minister Manuel Augusto told the press, alluding to the US president between 1989 and 1993.

 

With regard to Angola, the former President George H. Bush stood out in the process that led to the recognition of the country by the US administration under President Bill Clinton, he added.

 

"We extend sincere condolences to the US Government and people," said the Foreign Minister, who was accompanied by the US ambassador to Angola, Nina Maria Fite.

 

The diplomat considered George H. Bush a person beloved by the American people and despite his death it is important to celebrate everything he gave the American nation.

 

Bush senior, as he was also known, played a key role in sending US troops to Iraq for the Gulf War, after Saddam Hussein's forces invaded Kuwait.
