Angolan ambassador delivers credentials to Japanese emperor

Tokyo, ANGOLA, December 5 - The new Angolan ambassador and extraordinary plenipotentiary in Japan, Rui Orlando Xavier, presented Wednesday in Tokyo his credential letters to His majesty Emperor Akihito. ,

Ambassador, Rui Xavier was appointed by the President of the Republic on June 30 and took office on July 2.

Also in the Japanese capital, he just delivered the credentials to the deputy foreign minister of Japan, a traditional act that precedes the ceremony of presentation of credentials.

Ambassador Rui Xavier has been in the service of Angolan diplomacy since 1976 and is Angola's fourth ambassador to Japan.

Diplomat with recognized merit, Rui Xavier was Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Angola in Portugal. He also served in Angolan diplomacy in Rome, where he was a counselor.

The Ambassador previously held the position of director for multilateral affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
