New Air Force boss pledges intensification of combative readiness
Luanda, ANGOLA, November 23 - The commander of the National Air Force (FAN), Altino Carlos José dos Santos, last Thursday in Luanda pledged to continue to intensify the troops’ combative readiness with a view to guaranteeing the inviolability of the country’s airspace. ,
The FAN boss said so to the press after the ceremony that served for him to formally receive the portfolios from his recently dismissed predecessor, Francisco Lopes Gonçalves Afonso.
Altino Carlos dos Santos said that although the country is not facing any imminent threat, the FAN will continue to place special focus on staff training to better deal with the new challenges.
On his turn, the outgoing FAN commander, Francisco Lopes Gonçalves Afonso, encouraged the new commander to pay a particular attention to the project of building the memorial of the National Air Force.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Egídio de Sousa Santos “ Disciplina”.
