Angola takes over Interpol Africa executive committee

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 21 - Angola official, Destino Pedro Nsevilu is the new delegate for Africa of the Interpol Executive Committee, after being elected on Wednesday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for three-year term.,

Elected with 99.3% of the votes, Destino Pedro Nsevilu is Sub -Commissioner of Criminal Investigation and director of the National Office of Interpol in Angola, according to a note from the National Police to which Angop had access. The Interpol Executive Committee is the supreme body of the organization whose main function is to define and oversee the implementation of policies, strategies and decisions taken by the General Assembly.

The body promotes, through the General Assembly, the decisions on current police, criminal, cooperative and international affairs.

Angola chaired for the first time the Interpol Executive Committee for Africa in 2008 and 2009.

The former delegate was Commissioner Eduardo Cerqueira.
