President's visit to Portugal establishes new reality in cooperation

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 21 - The visit of the Angolan head of State João Lourenço to Portugal will establish a new reality in cooperation between the two countries and set paths for their future relations. ,

 

This was said Tuesday by the Portuguese diplomat and politician, António Martins da Cruz, during a free debate held by TV Zimbo television's channel from Lisbon, Portugal.

 

"Angola is for Portugal the most significant country of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP)," stressed the former head of Portuguese diplomacy.

 

António Martins da Cruz said that Angola is the country with which Portugal has a cooperation that better matches the CPLP perspective.

 

He stressed the great expectations around the state visit of the Angolan President, João Lourenço, scheduled to

start Thursday (22), at the invitation of his counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

 

In his view, João Lourenço has opened a new political cycle in the country's diplomacy, highlighting in this context the visits to France and Germany.

 

"Portugal now enters this privileged and priority group of the countries for Angolan diplomacy," he said during the "Free Debate".

 

As for the Portugal, António Martins da Cruz said that there has been a delay that was perceived by the Portuguese Government. "There was some irritability," he said in reference to the case of former Angolan Vice President Manuel Vicente in the context of Fizz Operation.
