The President was speaking when visiting the campus of the Agostinho Neto University (UAN), stated that much more than a mere police operation, rescue is above all an educational and civic operation.

He pointed out that the fight against corruption, nepotism, impunity, religious sects dedicated to the extortion of values ​​and goods to the peaceful citizens who are already poor or fragile by diseases and other contingencies of life.

 

João Lourenço underlined that in the same way that there has been a fight against the emergence and proliferation of clinics and clandestine medical centers, illegal canteens, bars and unlicensed restaurants, there is also a need to combat the educational establishments, in this case, private universities, not recognized by the authorities.

 

João Lourenço said that he counts on the voluntary participation of all, nongovernmental organizations and civic associations, professional associations, churches, the media, Internet users and bloggers in this struggle to rescue the values ​​of society.

 

The President of the Republic argued that science, technology and innovation can function as important tools to add value to the teaching-learning process, both for cognitive development regarding students' vocational development.

He also stressed the importance of students' inclusion in scientific research activities, through curricular internships in companies and joint research projects, pointing out that this path is necessary and efficient to establish the link between higher education institutions and companies.
