CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel proudly celebrates two associates on becoming semi-finalists of Marriott’s “Masters of Craft” competition. Both Dinesh Priyankara and Mihail Mihailovici Stalianof showcased their talents and represented Calgary Marriott In-Terminal Hotel, as well as all of Canada, in reaching the second-to-final stage of the esteemed culinary competition.

Held at Marriott HQ in Bethesda, Maryland, the Masters of Craft competition highlights the talents of the company’s most notable chefs and culinary artisans as they compete for the ultimate honor. Marriott America’s Food & Beverage team created the Masters of the Craft Food & Beverage competition to showcase talent and elevate the reputation of Marriott International as a preeminent Food & Beverage company.

The competition takes place in two phases. First, 2,200 associates competed over a span of two months, with 280 properties participating in internal culinary and beverage competitions since April 2018. Since launching the program, there have been 448 competitions in total, including 248 culinary competitions and 208 beverage competitions at participating hotels.

Phase two are the regionals and finals, with 11 competitions taking place from July through September, including 22 finalists, 11 from culinary and 11 from beverage. The masters from each competition competed on October 23^rd at Bethesda North, including both Dinesh Priyankara and Mihail Mihailovici Stalianof from the Calgary airport hotel. The remaining top two advanced to the final round, held on October 24^th at the HQ Test Kitchen.

Dinesh Priyankara and Mihail Mihailovici Stalianof both represented the best of our Calgary airport restaurant, YAKIMA Social Kitchen + Bar with innovative dishes and drinks that wowed the judges.
