Coercive assets repatriation analysed at Cabinet Council meeting

Luanda, ANGOLA, October 26 - A draft-law on Coercive Repatriation and Broad Capture of Assets was analysed last Thursday, in Luanda, by the Cabinet Council, at an ordinary meeting chaired by the Head of the Executive, President João Lourenço. ,

The document, yet to be submitted to the National Assembly (Parliament), aims at backing the already in force Law on Repatriation of Capitals, thus endowing the government with legal powers to also capture property acquired through the financial assets irregularly placed abroad.

With such draft-law the Angolan Executive intends to take a decisive step towards the materialisation of the 2018/2022 governance programme.

The same session also analysed the Draft Presidential Order that approves the regulation on invoices and equivalent documents. Such move happens in the ambit of the government’s plan to implement, next year, the Value-added Tax, among other reasons.

Among the various documents and projects analysed by the Cabinet Council, it is also highlighted the Draft-Document on the Executive’s request to the Parliament to Legislate on the General Principles Relating to the Restructuration and Application of New Salary and Subsidies Chart for the Public Service.
