Government's financial operations demand strict parliamentary supervision - MP
Luanda, ANGOLA, October 23 - The National Assembly (Angolan Parliament) needs to engage in stricter supervision of the government's financial operations, besides relying on the information provided by the Finance Ministry, said last Monday in Luanda the MP Joaquim David.,
Speaking on the fringes of a training programme designed for the members of parliament, parliamentary staff and Finance Ministry technicians, Joaquim David explained that a stricter supervision of the financial operations carried out by the Executive would help this branch to have greater certainty of the operations of the Treasury.
The MP said such supervision will help the Executive to be certain that the programmes integrated in the State General Budget are being closely monitored.
He went on to say that although the National Assembly has ways to check the State Accounts, the institution needs a tool that validates such information in real time, suggesting that this operation should take place every three months.
Nevertheless, proceeded the former Industry minister, the National Assembly will be evolving in its activities.
