Cabinda: Construction of refinery to meet people's expectations

Cabinda, ANGOLA, October 3 - The construction in coming days of a refinery in the far-northern Cabinda province will address the residents' expectations. ,

 

This was said Wednesday by the first secretary of the ruling MPLA party in Cabinda,  Eugénio Laborinho.

 

The infrastructure will tackle the plight of acquiring of fuels and other derived products as well as create jobs for the local young people.

 

The minister of Natural Resources and Oil, Diamantino Azevedo, recently announced that a refinery with a processing capacity of up to 60,000 barrels per day will be built in the region in the near future.

 

Addressing the 2nd Parliamentary Conference of MPLA in Cabinda province, Eugénio Laborinho said that the project has come to respond to the people's wishes.

 

The event is running under the motto “for a governance system closer to the citizen move toward local powers”.

 

Experts Carlos Maria Feijó, Márcio Daniel, Osvaldo Macaia, Manuel Camati and Alves da Rocha, will address issues linked to the local government, its institutionalisation in Angola and the principle of local autonomy.

 

The ruling MPLA party has 150 of the 220 MPs of Parliament.

 

Cabinda has a population estimated at more than 800,000 inhabitants.
