Angolan and Portuguese airlines to increase Luanda/Lisbon flights
Luanda, ANGOLA, September 18 - The Angolan and Portuguese airlines TAAG and TAP are gearing up to increase the number of flights from Luanda to Lisbon through an Air Transport agreement to be to be signed on Tuesday by Angola and Portugal. ,
The new agreement, to be signed in the framework of the two-day visit of the Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, to Angola, replaces the previous deal signed in Lisbon on October 14 of 2010, which established the conducting of 14 flights weekly.
To the Portuguese PM, the new agreement signals that there is willingness to increase the flow of flights between the two countries.
The Portuguese official, who was speaking in Luanda on Monday during a meeting with businesspeople from this European nation operating in Angola, announced the increase of the credit line for the support of the exports from 1 billion Euros to 1, 5 billion Euros.
The increased credit line is an important indication of the two countries’ willingness to continue improving the economic relation between the two states, said the Portuguese PM.
“ I believe there is not any other country, in whichever continent, like Angola with which we share a very intense relation, based essentially on the individuals ties that were being established”, added the official.
As regards to the bilateral relation, António Costa expressed belief in an auspicious future, with focus on the reform process underway in Angola stressing the approval of the current new laws on competition and private investment.
On Tuesday, after the meeting with Angolan President, João Lourenço, the two governments are expected to sign several agreements among them, a convention to put an end to double taxation and a memorandum for a progressive debt regularization of Angolan public personalities and Portuguese companies.
