Lubango, ANGOLA, September 7 - The defendants in the case of embezzling of 200 million kwanzas intended for the acquisition of laboratories for 23 high schools in southern Huíla province, will await trial under pre-trial detention. ,

On Thursday some of the defendants were interrogated namely, the provincial director of Education, Américo Chicote and former Finance representative, Sousa Dala and secretary general of the local government, António Ndasindondyo, a session marked by varied contradictions among the defendants.

The case dates to last April over an alleged embezzlement of part of 2.4 billion kwanzas made available by the Finance ministry in 2014 for the payment of subsidy of exam and leading position of the education staff in that southern region of the country.  

Meanwhile, the case involving the misappropriation of 200 million kwanzas dates to 2015 when the provincial government of Huíla made available the referred amount for the acquisition of 23 laboratories for high schools.
