Huambo: Head of State chairs Local Governance Council meeting
Huambo, ANGOLA, August 29 - President João Lourenço is chairing this Wednesday in Huambo City, central province with the same name, the second session of the Local Governance Council (CGL), which will analyse, among other issues, the five-year roads intervention plan and the current process of recruiting teachers and physicians countrywide.,
The minister of Territory Administration and State Reform, Adão de Almeida, informed that the Local Governance Council (CGL) will also make an assessment of the work that has been done in the area of strengthening administrative de-concentration.
On the other hand, he informed that the Cabinet Council, gathered last Tuesday in Huambo City, under the chairmanship of President João Lourenço, analysed also regulations relating to two important local organs, namely the Provincial and Municipal Concert Councils and the Communities Consultation Councils.
The minister also informed that currently there is a process of registering the country’s chieftains by the Culture Ministry.
The Local Governance Council (CGL) is an organ that advises and assists the Head of State in matters of drafting and following the policies relating to the local organs of the central government.
