President arrives in Huambo for Council of Ministers meeting
Huambo, ANGOLA, August 28 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, arrived in Huambo province this morning preside over the eighth regular meeting of the Council of Ministers and the Local Governance Council on Wednesday (29).,
Upon his arrival at the Albano Machado Airport, the Head of the Executive received welcome greetings from the host governor, João Baptista Kussumua, the provincial authorities, the local population, among other individuals.
This João Lourenço's second visit to Huambo province since he was elected President of the Republic in August 2017.
The first was held in October of last year, at the opening of the agricultural year 2017-2018.
At the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the members of this collegial body will, among other matters, assess a proposal for a law on Freedom of Religion, Belief and Worship and, in the framework of the process of implementation of the local power, will be in touch with draft presidential decrees on the Regulation of Provincial and Municipal Councils of Social Concertation and the Regulation of Community Counseling Councils.
The Local Governance Council, which will deal with various matters related to the management of the provinces that make up the national territory, will hold its second regular meeting after the first one held in the second half of February this year, in the city of Benguela, according to a press release from the President of the Republic's Civil House, that was made available to Angop.
