Portuguese politician highlights credibility of Angolan President

"The popularity gives to him power and credibility allowing breaking the isolation of the country internationally," said the analyst, in his space on the Portuguese television channel SIC.
"What is happening in Angola is a real revolution, peaceful and calm but a revolution," he said.
For Luís Marques Mendes, this is a revolution in the freedom of information, the press, in the fight against corruption and in economic liberalization.
In the usual commentary on Sunday in the Jornal da Noite television channel, Marques Mendes also considered the challenges that lie ahead in the next 12 months.
According to the commentator, the first of these challenges comes in September. "The two-headed leadership that exists in Angola will end. President João Lourenço will also become the President of the MPLA. "
"After that he will do a Government reshuffle. It's inevitable. It is the exercise of power in greater depth and without any party limitations, "says the lawyer and politician, a member of the Portuguese Social Democratic Party (PSD).
The last challenges for the next 12 months is the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to restructure the country financially, since, he said, "without recovering economy there is no social cohesion and lasting political stability."
