Angola seeks Chinese's financial aid to train Armed Forces

Luanda, ANGOLA, August 23 - Angolan government requested on Wednesday in Luanda, financial aid from China to carry on with its Armed Forces? (FAA), preparation and training programme. ,

The request for financial aid, said the Angolan State Secretary for Material Resources and Infrastructures of the Defense Ministry, Afonso Carlos Neto, is part of the long-term cooperation and strategic vision to carry out training projects, re-equipment, construction of infrastructures and others.

 

The position was manifested at the opening of the 5th meeting of Angola-China Joint committee for Science, Technology and Defense Industry, in which the Asian country was represent by its deputy Head of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, Xu Zhanbin.  

 

The Angolan official justified that the request was made due to prevailing world financial crisis and the lack of an institutional financial package, which has blocked the execution of projects and programmes of the Defense sector.  

 

In the meantime, the Chinese official assured that his nation is willing to cooperate with Angola, with view to deepening bilateral relations between the two States.

 

Angola and China share relations since 1983, and the Southern Africa country is the major trade partner in the continent, since 2007.

 

The two nations have cooperation relations in several domains such as agriculture, military, agro-industry, academic, infrastructural, oil and technology.
