Head of State highlights industrialisation to tackle unemployment

Berlin, ANGOLA, August 23 - Angola needs the industrialisation process with a view to creating employment for young people and improve people’s living standards, said last Wednesday in Berlin, Germany, the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço. ,

Speaking at a press conference, after a meeting with the German Premier, Angela Merkel, the Angolan Head of State reaffirmed the need to attract German investment to Angola in all domains.

   

“We neeed to take industrialisation (to Angola) with a view to creating employment for young people and improve the living standard of the population. So Germany has a potential, therefore, there is a need to attract German investment in all domains”, emphasised President João Lourenço.

 

He went on to reiterate the need for German investment in the sectors of the iron and steel industry, tourism infrastructures and defence, adding that Angola would welcome German supply of vessels and electronic equipment for the control of the Angolan maritime borders.  

 

João Lourenço said he discussed with the German Chancellor several issues relating to the co-operation between both countries. He said he seized the occasion to invite the German Premier to make an official visit to Angola.
