TORONTO, Aug. 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Media Advisory -- A Time Capsule Event will be held in Algonquin Provincial Park on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. The public event will commemorate the 125th Anniversary of Ontario Parks.

When:
Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

Time:
1:00pm - 2:30pm

What: 
The Time Capsule event will include speeches, packing and burial of a time capsule, park program displays, the launch of a new promotional campaign, and original live music. Photo and filming opportunities include time capsule burial, colourful displays highlighting signature park programming and an Algonquin lookout.

Why: 
To capture a snapshot of Ontario Parks in 2018 and to preserve park history for future generations. To engage the public and media in an anniversary celebration. To bury a time capsule filled with items representing the past, the present, and hopes for the future.
