The minister of Sport and Recreation SA  Ms Tokozile Xasa has today, opened and handed over a multi purpose sport facility to the community of Merweville.

Addressing the Merweville community prior handing over the facility, the minister urged the community to make use of the facility,  she further urged them to ensure that kids remain in sport, "as sport does more than recreation, it further teaches learners the values of team building, equality, discipline, perseverance and respect" stated the minister.

The multi purpose facility comprises of a hall, soccer/ rugby field with an athletic track and netball/tennis court.
