Angola, Belarus discuss strategic military partnership

According to the head of the Belarusian mission, issues such as the creation of assembly lines, repair and maintenance of military materials and the anti-aircraft defense system were addressed.
Maj. Gen. Oleg Dvigalev has admitted the possibility of reuse of Russian-origin material for the potential that it still has, given the modernization efforts of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
In March of last year, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, still as Minister of National Defense, had discussed with a delegation from Belarus the possibility of signing an intergovernmental agreement in the technical-military area.
At the time, it was accepted that the agreement could extend to civil projects, in particular the production of tractors and vehicles, and to consolidate existing cooperation in agriculture and industry.
The Eastern European country is a world reference in the production of heavy equipment, cheese and cooking oil.
