Angolan president sacks national police general commander

Luanda, ANGOLA, July 31 - Angolan head of State João Lourenço Tuesday dismissed, in his request, the Chief Commissioner Alfredo Eduardo Manuel Mingas from the post of General Commander of National Police. ,

 

According to a press release from the President's Civil Affairs Office reached Angop, the President also fired Chief Commissioner Paulo Gaspar de Almeida from the position of the second General Commander of Police.

 

Dismissed were also Chief Commissioner, António Pedro Joaquim Kandela, from the position of Commander of National Border Police.

 

In another decree, the President appointed the Chief Commissioner Paulo Gaspar de Almeida  General Commander of National Police.

 

While, the Chief Commissioner António Pedro Joaquim Kandela was appointed second General Commander of National Police.

 

Apart from his appointment to the post of General Commander of National Police, the President also promoted Paulo Gaspar de Almeida to the rank of Commissioner-General, under the country’s Constitution.
