UAW members at six UAW Daimler Trucks North America facilities have ratified six-year contract agreements with Daimler Trucks North America.

The agreements cover UAW members at Daimler Trucks North America facilities at Thomas Built Buses, Local 5287, in High Point, North Carolina, Cleveland TMP, Local 3520, in Cleveland, Ohio, Gastonia/Parts, Local 5286, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Mount Holly TMP, Local 5285, in Mount Holly, North Carolina, Atlanta PDC, Local 10, in Atlanta, Georgia, and Memphis PDC, Local 2406, in Memphis, Tennessee.

“UAW members at UAW Daimler Trucks North America went through challenging negotiations,” said UAW Secretary-Treasurer and Director of the UAW Heavy Truck Department Ray Curry. “Through perseverance and a strong voice at the table with management, they won a fair contract for workers that includes wage increases, lump sums and a ratification bonus.”

The contract includes:

• A $4,000 ratification bonus
• A 3 percent wage increase in years one, three and five of the contract
• A 2 percent wage increase in the sixth year
• A 4 percent lump sum payment in year two
• A 3 percent lump sum payment in year four

The agreement also includes increased health care benefits and an end to the two-tier wage structure among workers with a new wage progression scale.

UAW President Gary Jones says this agreement represents a hard-won victory for members at Daimler Trucks North America. “UAW members and their bargaining team at Daimler Trucks demonstrated that preparation and worker solidarity can achieve fair wages and benefits at the negotiating table,” said Jones. “UAW Daimler members negotiated a solid agreement with clear gains including wage increases, lump sum payments and other benefits. We’re proud of the work they’ve done and the well-deserved contract they received.”
