MPLA analyses summoning of VI Extraordinary Congress
Luanda, ANGOLA, June 26 - The MPLA Political Bureau Secretariat (SBP) on Tuesday considered the proposal to convene the VI Extraordinary Congress, to be formalized by the Central Committee of that party, yet this week, in an extraordinary plenary session to be held for this purpose.,
According to the communiqué of the session, released to Angop today, the SBP considered that the process of political transition under the MPLA leadership is taking place in an environment of perfect harmony, broad participation and acceptance of the militants, in safeguarding the principles and values of MPLA, with a view to strengthening its unity and cohesion.
The document also states that the Plan to carry out the convening of the VI Extraordinary Congress was held in all provinces of the country in order to keep militants, friends and sympathizers informed and involved in the preparation and execution of the big event.
On the occasion of 25 June, the anniversary of Mozambique's independence, the SBP addressed happiness to the brotherhood people and urged the country to complete reconciliation and harmony for the development and well-being of its people".
The 11th Regular Meeting of the SBP was held under the chair of MPLA Vice-President João Lourenço.
