President João Lourenço lands in Brussels

Brussels, ANGOLA, June 3 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, arrived in Brussels this Sunday for a state visit.,

In the center of the visit to Belgium, the second stage of an European tour, is the strengthening of the ties between the two States.

In Brussels, where the President of the Republic arrived after having already been in France, João Lourenço is expectd to be received at the Egmount Palace by King Philip.

The twodays visit programme also includes meetings with Belgian businessmen, the Angolan community living in the Kingdom of Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as at the headquarters of the European Union.

In Brussels are located the main institutions of the European Union incluiding the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Parallel to the presidential agenda is a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries.

President João Lourenço's visit to this Western European country follows the November meeting in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, with the Prime Minister and Head of Government of the Kingdom of Belgium, Charles Michel.

Last November, the two entities met on the sidelines of the 5th Summit of the African Union (AU) - European Union (EU).
