William Gilbert Lightner reflects on a life of preaching and evangelism

William Gilbert Lightner has preached to thousands of individuals in almost 30 countries in his life as an evangelist.

MARIETTA, GA, UNITED STATES, June 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Believing it his duty in life to bring people closer to Christ, William Lightner and the mission teach acknowledgment of fellowship and faith through prayer. "We do this so that people may live a more sound life as followers of Christ," he explains.

A former member of the United States military, and also having worked in executive sales and finance, William Gilbert Lightner has successfully helped to establish prayer groups in many of the 28 different countries he's visited on his travels with the mission.

A resident of Marietta, Georgia, Lightner completed a lengthy development process, arranged by the mission, before embarking on his international journey. "It was the mission who got me started with speaking and with traveling the world," recalls Lightner of his ties to the group. "They hold a very special place in my heart."

Religious missions are organizations which travel the globe to spread God's word. Lightner explains this, saying, "Generally, this involves sending individuals such as myself across geographical borders and boundaries to preach a set of beliefs, and also to undertake humanitarian work among the disadvantaged and the poor."

Such humanitarian work typically serves to improve local economic development, standards of education, and existing healthcare systems.

According to Lightner, the vision for the mission began with Jesus Christ. "Jesus chose twelve ordinary men for his disciples to witness his life on earth and to be the first recipients of his teaching," he explains. "The common goal of a mission is to see Jesus lifted up, and the Holy Spirit move in power and authority."

Highly-educated, William Gilbert Lightner is a graduate of Judson University, Illinois, and credits his education and personable nature with much of his success as an evangelist, as well as in public speaking.

Now well known in both of these fields, Lightner has recently been formally recognized for his work by biographical publication Strathmore's Who's Who. "They've awarded me the title of Religious and Spiritual Services Professional of the Year 2018," says the preacher and evangelist, proudly.

Chosen from over a thousand shortlisted individuals, Strathmore's Who's Who selected Lightner for the honor thanks to his continued commitment to the fields of religion and spirituality.

"I'm incredibly proud to have been selected for this year's title," he remarks, wrapping up. "It's fantastic recognition and a great accolade."
