Bishop suggests gradualism in less than 15 years

Luanda, ANGOLA, May 26 - The Bishop of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the World (Tocoísta), Afonso Nunes, last Friday said that it is exaggerated the 15-year time horizon foreseen by the Government to work on the gradual implementation of local government countrywide.,

Speaking to journalists on the sideline pre-balance meeting on the activities related to the centenary of the prophet Simão Gonçalves Toco, the Tocoist bishop considered that, if so, the Government would have to work harder to reduce asymmetries.

According to Dom Afonso Nunes, this assumption will force the State to carry out a series of actions aimed at creating conditions so that municipalities not covered in the first phase reach the level of the most developed ones.

The Executive stated in its Proposed Law on the "Organization and Functioning of Local Authorities", one of the five that go to public discussion beginning in June that the entry of other municipalities is sequential and gradual, at the beginning of each electoral cycle, of every five years.

According to him the implementation of this strategy of the Angolan Executive would require more public investments in less developed municipalities.
