Justice reform records three years of delay
Luanda, ANGOLA, May 25 - The Chief JUstice of the Supreme Court (TS), Rui Ferreira, considered on Thursday that the ongoing reform programme is recording three years of delay, but he believes that the country can regain the time until 2020.
,
"We need to move forward with the creation of courts of appeals before 2020, the year of the first local elections," said the magistrate during the 13th Advisory Council of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
To achieve such a goal, some two years are needed, said the judge, underlining that the country will certainly achieve its aim.
However, the official stressed that the court of appeals are the ones that will be tasked of verifying the legality of the acts of local elections.
The creation of the court of first instance is also part of the preparation process for the holding of the local elections, said the magistrate.
