Cuito, ANGOLA, May 21 - The legislative package on local governments is to be analysed for approval this Monday by the Cabinet Council, the minister of Territory Administration and State Reform, Adão de Almeida, has announced. ,

 

The government official has also disclosed, during a visit to the central Bié Province, that after being approved by the Cabinet Council, the said legislative package will be submitted to public discussion by the civil society from June to July this year.  

 

The referred legislative package includes the Bill on the Organisation and Functioning of Local Governments, Bill on Local Elections, Bill on Local Finances, Bill on the Competences of Local Governments, among others.

 

Minister Adão de Almeida has also explained that during the public analysis of the bills there will also be deep discussions on the role and tasks of chieftains.
